Self-tape Audition Intensive

Self-tapes are a major feature of the casting process and they will become even more integral in the future. This class, co-led by Broadway casting director Lindsay Levine (Dear Evan Hanson, Bandstand, Cats, Billy Elliot), will teach you all the skills necessary to combine musical theatre with on-camera technique so that you can make professional self-tapes that get results.

All participants will have opportunities to create self-tape material, hear detailed analysis in class, and receive private one-to-one feedback. Additionally, there will be discussions of filming equipment (at every budgetary level), examples of successful and unsuccessful self- tapes from the professional world, Do’s & Don’t’s, Q&As, and a special discussion with Hamilton Dance Supervisor Ryan Kasprzak about dance self-tapes.

FILLING THE GAPS

Filling the Gaps sets out to answer every question you have about building a career in the theatre. There will be special appearances and Q&As with acclaimed Broadway actors, directors, writers, casting directors, producers, and more.

Discussions will include the unique challenges of working as an actor on a new musical, how to curate an online presence which will positively impact the professional casting process, networking, outreach, assisting, and more.

This class aims to be an evolving series of conversations whose content is informed by the needs, interests, and questions of each participant, as well as the events of the world at large.

FILLING THE PAGE

Filling the Page is a songwriting class designed to unlock your creativity.

It will be driven by weekly writing prompts which will inspire you to create unique and impactful work. Each week will focus on storytelling through song, developing an original voice, and revising work through feedback.

Beyond the creation of original material (you can write music, lyrics, or both), you will be encouraged to find inventive ways to represent your work on digital platforms. In addition to the group meetings, individualized one-to-one feedback will be provided every week.
